Subject connecting to MySQL database to synchronise with MS Access local database

I've a lovely MS Access database that I would like to convert to MySQL on my Tripod site, but can't seem to connect using an intermediary tool - it wants to know my MySQL server address, login name and password. PHP4U dump shows this:

# Host: members-a.db.tmm.lyceu.net:3306
# Generation Time: Dec 24, 2008 at 03:34 PM
# Server version: 3.23.33
# PHP Version: 4.3.9
# Database : `auselan_uk_db`

so I was expecting to connect on port 3306 using the address above, but it won't let me in - does anyone have any bright ideas about how to connect to the server without directly using the PHP4U MyAdmin console? I have searched FAQs/Forums extensively without finding an answer
